Preschool and Pre-K
What is the teacher to child ratio?
Each preschool class has a lead teacher and a preschool aide. Preschool classes are limited to 12 students.
What are the hours of the school day?
There are two preschool sessions at Hobble Creek Learning Center. Morning preschool runs from 9:00 am-11:30 am. Afternoon preschool runs from Noon-2:30 pm.
How old are preschoolers?
Preschool students are between 3-5 years old. Students must be 3 the month they enroll in preschool and also need to be potty trained in order to enroll in preschool.
Does Hobble Creek Learning provide meals and snacks?
Yes, we provide healthy and nutritional snacks in each preschool classroom.
Do you require parents to volunteer their time at school?
We do not require parents to volunteer in the classroom; however, we welcome parent participation at your convenience.
What if my child is allergic to certain types of foods?
We require parents to include any allergies on the registration form that is shared with the child's teacher and kept on file. Preschool teachers will not serve your child a prohibited snack and are encouraged to find healthy alternative snacks that can be served to everyone in their classroom. We also encourage parents to bring approved snacks to be served to their child as a substitute snack.
What is the tuition and how is it paid?
Tuition varies depending on how many days each week your child attends. Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Hobble Creek Learning accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, personal checks and cash. You can choose to pay monthly, or pay through automatic debit.
Does the preschool take holidays and vactions?
We follow the Nebo School District calendar. When Nebo School District is out of school so are we. There are some variations from the Nebo School District, these are reflected in monthly calendars from their child's preschool or Kindergarten teacher.
Kindergarten
How many students are in each Kindergarten class?
Our Kindergarten class is unique and only has 12 students per class and is taught by our Director, Stephanie Harker. The average Kindergarten class in Nebo School District is 22 and will rise to approximately 30 students per class in 2010.
What are the Kindergarten hours?
Kindergarten is held 5-days a week from Noon-2:30 pm.
What Kindergarten curriculum does Hobble Creek Learning Center use?
We use a combined curriculum that includes the Utah State Core curriculum and the Starfall Kindergarten Curriculum.
How old does my child have to be to attend Kindergarten?
Students must be 5 years old by December 31st of the school year to enroll in Kindergarten. If they do not meet this deadline they are welcome to enroll in our Pre-K classes.
Tutoring
How much is tutoring?
Tutoring rates vary depending on frequency, and payment method. Each child is required to come in for an initial consultation. The consultation will assess the student's current strengths and weaknesses. Hourly tutoring rates start at $40.00 per hour. We offer both individual and small group tutoring.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Unlike many large corporate tutoring centers we do not require a lengthy contract and large advance payments. We believe in the quality of our tutors and know your child will make significant progress! We have consultations with parents every six weeks to assess student progress and evaluate your families needs.
How often and how long are tutoring sessions?
The frequency of tutoring sessions is determined after a consultation with the parents discussing the specific needs of the student. Tutoring sessions are generally 50-minutes long but can be adjusted to meet the needs and abilities of each student.
Who are your tutors?
Stephanie Harker, the center director supervises and facilitates all of our tutors. Our tutors are hand selected from experienced and personable teachers that Stephanie has worked with in her career in education. If a student needs specific tutoring in a specialized area we will find a tutor that has qualifications in that area.
How can I pay for tutoring?
Parents can pay for tutoring monthly or weekly. These payments can be made with cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or Automatic Withdrawl.
How do I register for tutoring?
Registration materials are available online, can be picked up, can be mailed or emailed to a parent. Tutoring registration materials should be filled out and returned to the center.
What time is tutoring?
Tutoring services are available from 9:00am-8:00pm M-F or by special arrangement.
Do students see the same tutor each session?
Students who pay monthly will be guaranteed to have the same tutor each week. If parents pay weekly we cannot insure that the same tutor or time slot will be available.
Do parents have to be present for the initial tutoring assessment?
No. Students will be assessed privately by the director. Parents will meet with the director to discuss the needs of their student in a professional consultation.

Our primary focus for tutoring is school-aged children. However, tutoring services can be tailored to meet the needs of individuals at any age level.
